Spacs that he headed up or participated in enabled companies such as GLG, Prisa, Phoenix Life, Burger King and Macdermid Specialty chemicals to bypass the process of using initial public offerings.

Along the way, these Spacs generated stunning returns. In 2006, he founded Justice Holdings with Bill Ackman of Pershing Square as an investor. Justice Holdings merged with Burger King in 2012, creating a successful exit from closely held ownership. Other exits include what do computer engineers do.; it generated returns of 1,800%. Franklin became head of Jarden Corp., a conglomerate of consumer brands, which he grew from a company with $300 million in annual revenue to one with more than $10 billion. The engineering response to the sudden demands of the coronavirus was inspiring. Whether building ventilators, making personal protective equipment or creating new hospital capacity, companies and institutions from across the spectrum came together in a spirit of collaboration.

Even firms traditionally seen as rivals came together, demonstrating what can be achieved when looking beyond profit margins.

BML Munjal University Appoints Maneek Kumar As Dean - School Of Engineering & Technology

BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, today announced the appointment of Prof. Maneek Kumar as the Dean of School of Engineering and Technology. Prior to this, he has served as Professor & Dean of Students Affairs at Thapar Institute Of Engineering & Technology and was the youngest to hold the post of Professor of Civil Engineering at the Institute, at the age of 34 years. Prof Kumar is a seasoned academician, researcher and academic administrator with experience of more than 27 years. He has taught courses on Mechanics and Strength of Materials to all disciplines of engineering at the Thapar Institute .

Maneek has earned his UG, PG and Ph D degrees in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. His Ph D research was on Reliability-based design of structural elements. His major research interests include reliability based design, retrofitting and rehabilitation, and Ultra High Performance Concrete. He works on Probabilistic and reliability models, neuro-computing and optimization techniques. He has published more than 80 research papers in National and International Peer reviewed journals and conferences and has guided 65 M. E. and 14 Ph D Thesis. He has also completed several Sponsored Research and Industrial consultancy projects with an outlay of more than computer science vs computer engineering.
